Hello, I've been trying to figure out how to update my EPG for a while now. Currently i'm trying to update OTA, but maybe i'm doing that wrong. I go to settings -> Channels -> set one of my channels to DVB/ATSC EPG. I've ran Update EPG afterwards which scans for about 60seconds per channel. Once it's done, I check my channel listing (TV Guide) and it just shows no show details.
So...
issue 1) I can't seem to bulk map the channels to all use DVB/ATSC EPG. Any settings I set on that page seem to go to the nether (nothing is reflected back on the channels page).
issue 2) Still have never seen TV Guide work.
Brief look at the logs it seems to have an issue casting NShared.HDHomeRunRecorder while updating the EPG:
Code:
2015-09-08 20:29:19.777 [ERROR][7] Unexpected error getting dynamic event list: System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'NShared.HDHomeRunRecorder' to type 'NShared.Visible.IEPGDataSource'.
at NShared.EPGManager.UpdateEPG(IEPGUpdateCallback callback)
I believe I have my firewall opened. I don't see the option for "Other - ATSC/QAM" with the latest version of hdhomerun setup, so I have it set to NextPVR. Anything else i'm missing?
For those of you using a HDHR Dual (QAM/ASTC) version, what setting are you using in the HDHR software? WIth the upgrade to windows I upgraded the firmware version from 04012015 to 08262015 and am experiencing difficulty with playback "quick advance" or fast forward at either 10 sec or 1 min intervals. I was recording under the default setting, should I be using the NextPVR setting instead?
I am having an issue with FM Radio and was wondering if anyone has seen anything similar. Thanks in advance for any support that can be provided.
Here is the scenario
1) Start NextPVR
2) Play one of my FM Radio stations that I have configured, the sound works.
3) Switch to OTA TV station, video and sound work
4) Switch back to FM Radio station, it appears to find the station but no sound comes out
I can then switch back to a TV station and it functions normally.
To get FM Radio to work again I need to reboot my PC.
Running
Windows 10, NextPVR 3.5.7, Hauppauge Wintv-hvr-2255, Loaded Win TV 8
I've read through the forums and tried to see if there was a problem like mine, and I'm not sure, but I'm guess it's decoders. I am able to add my channels from my Comcast M-Card to NextPVR and it sees my channels. It sees all 3 of my tuners from the HD HomeRunPrime, but when I tune to Live TV I just get the black screen as others have. I've tried just about every codec that's in there and no dice. I installed SAF, but it doesn't show in the codec dropdown list. Any help you guys can provide is appreciated.
OS: Windows 10 (I've also done this on Windows 7, same issue)
Provider: Comcast (M-Card)
Device: HD HomeRunPrime
Locale: US - East Coast
A search came up with an answer on this problem, but it was 10 years ago. I could not find that information in the config file, so I thought I would ask.
The picture on the TV screen is much larger than the screen. An example would be the thin top edge of the time line only shows. I made several adjustment in the config file, but nothing helped.
Ideas?

I just downloaded mc2xml trying to pull local channels guide but it is only pulling the channel listing, without any guide information. The command i'm using is below:
mc2xml.exe -f -d 168 -o TVGuide.xml -s -6
When this run, i notice the start date is 7/13/2015 and end date is 9/2/2015. Today's date is 9/7/2015. Seems like it is downloading the older guide information just fine if i tweak the -s parameters but it will not download today's date guide. What am i doing wrong?
EDIT: Missed some news on http://mc2xml.awardspace.info/ but apparently the MS legacy no longer update for US. So that explains my problem.
I have NextPVR running on my HTPC. I am using a Hauppauge tuner card. My source in this case if the ATSC tuner fed by over the air HDTV.
Things in general work great but I have been having an issue where after running for a few hours my sound will start skipping. Now by that I do not mean repeating. More like the sound dropping out many times a second and picking right back up.
I have tried using the LAV decoder for AC3 audio (assuming that is the correct audio source but maybe I am wrong?) as well as the Microsoft one. But it happens with both.
I am using HDHomeRun on a Windows 10 system, and can get video and audio working, and can change channels by right clicking the n-pvr window, and using 'channels'.
But, I have no other GUI at all, and also cannot get the EPG to populate.
When I try to Update the EPG n-pvr just crashes.
