  Cannot record 2 programs simultaneously
Posted by: TomPyd - 2015-11-05, 01:06 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (6)

Hi.
I know I've posted this before but I cannot find the original to update.
I have a Hauppauge OpenCable Receiver Dual Tuner
Model: WinTV-DCR-2650 with a cable card.
I can record programs fine, but if I schedule 2 simultaneous recordings I only get partial programs even though it shows recording. Opening the recorded program shows only a few minutes on each. Monday night, it recorded 36:42 on each program. The tuner then 'failed' to record 2 subsequent recordings at 9pm and 10pm respectively.

I tested it again today with 2 random shows at 7pm and it only recorded a couple of minutes of each one.

I also have an HD homerun and a usb tuner which are both fed from antenna. If I record 2 programs on 2 different tuners, it seems to work properly, but since my antenna signal is not as good as the cable signal, I would rather not have to do that.

I've attached the logs for each day.
Thanks and I apologize again for creating a new thread for this.

  Manual Recording and Channel Selection
Posted by: RTKAT - 2015-11-04, 11:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

When I go to the manual recording screen the first item displayed in the list is: Recording Type: Record once.
Next line is: Channel: WPBN is shown. The channel I want is at the end of the list of channels I have to click through with the right arrow. Is there a way to get the channel I want to "show up" sooner in the long list?

Recording faled and EPG update failed on Win 10
Posted by: peejay - 2015-11-04, 10:41 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

Over night I had one recording fail to occur and the EPG automatic update also failed.
Yesterday morning I switched back to Win 10 (I dual boot with Win 7). I have had NPVR working reasonably well on Win 7 after tweaking a few things. I originally switched back to Win7 because I had problems getting NPVR to work satisfactorily on Win 10.
Yesterday morning I did a manual EPG update and then set up what I wanted to record. At 9:30 pm the computer woke up and recorded okay (except the same show was recorded twice). There should have been a recording at midnight but nothing was recorded. At 5:00 am there should have been an EPG update. The update didn't occur then but took place at 7:15 am when I manually woke the computer.
I run a ParallelProcessing batch file to stop the computer from going to sleep while a recording is occurring. It changes the Power Plan and is logged in the PowerPlan log. I have had this working well on Win 7. The computer goes to sleep after 10 minutes on the Balanced Plan and never on the High Performance Plan.
It appears from my reading of the logs that the computer woke at midnight for the recording but nothing happened and again the computer woke at 5:00 am and nothing happened.

Logs attached

NextPVR (kodi) and the HDPVR2 for HDMI in Sat feed.
Posted by: Phat Phreddy - 2015-11-04, 12:18 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

Anyone using this setup ??

I have an encrypted Satellite box whose outputs are composite or HDMI. I would like to get the live TV feed working on my Kodi network from the HDMI with pass through for WAF.

To complicate matters my Kodi network is android nodes. And I dont want to go back to full HTPC in the living room where the sat box lives.

  Bug in horizontal interface
Posted by: fla - 2015-11-04, 03:25 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

In the horizontal interface, if you hit left/right followed quickly by Ok/Enter, you will sometimes get the new choice you wanted but if the cursor animation has not fully completed you get the old choice you do not want.

Config to control what Channel Group is presented to Kodi
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2015-11-04, 01:45 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

This post got me thinking that being able to control what channel group was presented to Kodi for the EPG may be a nice feature. (I actually think Martin does this in his Kodi interface). There could be dozens and dozens of channels that I potentially may want to record from, but on a regular basis, not see in the Kodi interface. Maybe I only want to see HD channels (or SD), or maybe only Movie channels (and not all the shopping networks, etc..).

  Need help with initial setup
Posted by: hansolo77 - 2015-11-03, 09:24 PM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (24)

So I'm completely new here. This is my first post. Please be kind. Smile

I've been using Windows Media Center for years. Love how easy it was to setup and make work. However, I'm getting a little anal about the noise my HTPC creates with all it's fans and stuff. So I've bought myself a Raspberry Pi 2 in the hopes that Kodi will be able to perform as well as WMC does. The thing about the Pi, it doesn't have PCI(e) slots for tuners. That's not really a problem though since I have a custom built Windows Server (2012 R2 Standard) I've been working on. I use that to store all my music, pictures, downloaded tv shows and movies. I use Emby also. It dawned on me; Why not use the server, which is on 24/7 in the other room, to do all my recording, and just transfer all the tuners into that. When I learned that Kodi has support for this sort of thing, I immediately started researching what I needed to do. I have 4 tuner cards, with 1-2 tuner's built into them. Each is built by Hauppauge. To be safe, I only removed one card for testing for the moment. I installed the card, then the drivers and rebooted. Windows Server seems stable, and the Device Manager is sitting happy. I then installed NextPVR. Then a quick glance through the settings yielded an alert about DirectX Runtime not existing. Looking up how to install that on a Server brought me to a webpage that said it is installed automatically through Windows Update. Well poop. Windows Update didn't install it, of course. So I just skipped that for now, thinking I could probably install ffdshow or LAV filters and everything would be good. I then found a download for just that, and also one for SAF filters. I installed them both, then rebooted. Now NextPVR is happy as far as decoders. I then went through the process of setting up the tuner. The tuner I have installed is the HVR-1600, which comes with 1 Digital (ATSC) tuner and 1 Analog (NTSC) tuner. However, when I load it up in NextPVR, it correctly identifies the first tuner as ATSC but incorrectly identifies the 2nd as QAM. It is not a QAM, it is analog. The ATSC tuner is connected to an HD Antenna to pick up the free Over The Air (OTA) HD in my area. The analog tuner is connected to my cable which I use their provided "cable-ready tv service". We have a DVR in the living room, but without a box it's just cable-ready. So anyway, I went through and scanned for channels with the ATSC, and it correctly found about 10 of them. Then I tried to scan for the channels on the analog and it's not finding anything. It went through like 100 channels. The window says "Digital Channel Setup", but it's not a digital tuner.

Is there a way to fix this? What do I have to do?

  Nightly Asking for Version 3.6.0
Posted by: macedo666 - 2015-11-03, 12:59 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (9)

I've upgraded my PC (an intel nuc) to windows 10 recently. All was working fine in win 8.1 and after the upgrade I also upgraded Kodi to one of the last nightlies. It's now asking me for a diferent version of nextpvr witch I was not able to find anywhere. Also after upgrading to 10 if live tv is on on kodi and I try to acess for instance the newa interface on the cellphone to check for the guide it kills the live transmission on kodi and after doing that it returns the guide on the phone. That was not happening before. I can provide logs if that's necessary.

Thanks,

Marcelo.

Ok so how do I get the EPG to work please?

I can't find instructions specific to that, and a forum search tells me a search for 'epg' doesn't have enough characters....

  Disabling channels
Posted by: rykr - 2015-11-03, 05:13 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (1)

So I have SD and HD variants of channels in my lineup. I don't want the SD channels to appear in Kodi. I've created a channel group called Main that has the HD channels but I don't know a way of only sending the EPG data over for main to kodi. I would like to do this to speed up kodi startup.

If I can't do that i would want to disable the SD channels in NextPVR. Is there a way to disable the channels or do I have to delete the channels?
