To explain the PACE boxes natively use a funny sort of remote protocol (IRDA??) that 99% of IR learning stuff can't handle. But in later models they added the ability to respond also to some ordinary RC5 IR remotes which is what the file is from.

So you can't learn from the remote that NTL/Telewest gave you...

If the file above doesn't work, push for an upgrade, I think you need a model 4100 or something (can't remember). ( It's amazing how often accidents happen to these Pace boxes....;-) ) (The newer ones run much cooler too)

Thanks for the explanation! .It makes sense that they cater for other IR codes as Telewest must have had so many complaints from people who couldn't get their learning remotes to work. I just hope my box responds to those PACE codes as it's made by Scientific Atlanta (or something like that) and the Telewest engineer said it was one of the more recent models. Hopefully mine isn't the most recent otherwise I may actually find myself pushing Telewest for a downgrade! ;-)
GB-PVR 1.0.16 (recording service and database) running on: VIA EPIA 5000 (533Mhz), 512MB, 40GB HD, PVR-150MCE, USB-UIRT controlling Sky Digital box.

GB-PVR 1.3.11 (front-end and client for above) running on: Toshiba NB100 netbook 1.6Ghz, 160GB HD, 1GB RAM.

Front-end viewed on 2xMVPs (using mvpmc dongle).

My Telewest box "Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4200" does not work with the Pace NTL box.dat profile :-(

Has anybody managed to get this box to work with a USB-UIRT?

I guess I might have to ring Telewest to find out if this box responds to any RC5 codes - that'll be a good test of their technical support department ;-)
