usb uirt - how many IR transmitters?

So, I'm having some IR blaster issues...my Hauppauge mce dongle has two IR transmitter ports but I can't seem to get both ports to blast independently (tried IRSS and LM Gestion Keymapping).

I've since started looking at the USB UIRT and it seems to have two ir blasters but when I look at the picture I can't see how it works. It's only got one IR emitter port bit two blasters in the front.

My question is can you use the USB UIRT to blast two different STBs? I suppose the external IR emitter goes to one box and the main head goes to another?

Other question is...has anyone gotten IRSS to blast both ports independently of the Hauppauge MCE dongle? If so what IRSS release. I'm in win 7 x64.

OK...after doing some homework I think I figured it out. One usb uirt can actually control three emitters - the front, and two at the back. The IR plug in the back is a stereo jack and each channel is an ir emitter...I might just get one considering all the problems I'm having.

Have been using the usb uirt for many years now to change channels on two set top boxes. As you say, it can control three. You need the emitter from old remote units and a stereo cable. You then need to create files in notepad with the codes identified by zone (ie. Z20000). Save them as "txt" files and then change the extension to "dat".

You will need the file USBUIRTSend.exe and in settings for each capture card identify which dat file to use
