I use a standalone exe called USBUIRTSEND.EXE to send IR codes to my USB-UIRT and .dat file containing a set of learned IR codes, that GBPVR (when it had that function) "learned" for me a few years back. NPVR does not have a built in learning (or transmitting function), which is why I use the utility.

Now, it works well with the OLD .dat file.

However when I learned (using USB-UIRT'slrnhelper app) a new set of pronto remote IR codes recently, and saved the .dat file, USBUIRTSEND.EXE does not send anything at all? I confirmed the USBUIRT lrnhelper program does SEND ("fire") the learned codes OK, to the USB-UIRT.

I attach the two dat files; would anyone be able to shed any light on why the old codes work and the new ones do not?

Thanks
k.

NewNowBBBoxPronto.dat are the new codes from lrnhelper

Looks like a UAC related problem. By default, you would need to run the program as administrator to write to "C:\Program Files" in Win7.

Sorry, I'm not 100% sure I understand what I need to do? I use Vista, but in any case I did turn off UAC a long time ago.

Okay, UAC was my first thought. Vista and Win7 both use it. Sorry I can't help any more than that.

When USBUIRTSend.exe sends the data from the file to the UUIRTTransmitIR function, it says the data is in "UUIRTDRV_IRFMT_PRONTO" format, which is the format GBPVR used to ask the USB-UIRT to capture in. Maybe this other utility is capturing in "UUIRTDRV_IRFMT_UUIRT" or some other format.

Hmm... well, had a crack at this for several hours... I've tried the latest 0.5 and the old 0.2 lrnhelper utilities. I've selected Pronto format. I've defaulted to repeatcount 3 like the old one (lrnhelper deaults to 5). They all work IN the lrnhelper util, just not outside of it. Stumped.

did you ever get this working? I have been wrestling for weeks trying to get my channels to change since I rebuilt my box with Win7. I have a similar setup to you and similar experience in that the usbuirtSend.exe works fine on its own but nothing happens in nPVR. I've disabled UAC and set all oprograms to be run as administrators but I still can't get it to work. So no recordings

Nope.

The old dat for the device generated by GBPVR works, with USBUIRTSEND just fine and luckily the dat worked with the new box as well, but generating a new dat ...NOPE! I was hoping sub would find and split off the GBPVR code that generated the dats as a separate standalone utility ... :-)
