SBE not works on 350?

Hi all,

I have tried GB-PVR onto Xp Mce and SBE worked fine; now I try to use Xp Pro Italian (same Hw and Sw and same SP 1a) and SBE (checked into the config tool) not work (only I can see Buffer:0% and can pause, but I can't FF and RW). In the logs there aren't errors and the mpeg pause file is present...

Perhaps the Os isn't important...

The question: what determine if SBE can run or not (after the flag into the config tool)??

I have Pvr350/NVidia Geforce 4 Mx 64 Mb DDR Agp

SBE does apply to the PVR350 (at this stage).

SBE will be used if:
- The 'Use SBE if available' option is selected
- The machine has XP SP1 or higher
- The user is currently using Overlay/VMR7/VMR9 (not XCard/PVR350/MVP)

I have tried with vmr 7, 9 and Overlay, but it doesn't work (on Osd i don't see SBE ... behind..).

I not understand your (not XCard/PVR350/MVP)... I have PVR350 board.... and on Xp MCE Os SBE is ok... I not understand why on Xp Pro (Italian version, if this need) the SBE cannot work....

However I can return on Xp Mce ...

If you have other ideas, please tell me (mpeg, registry, drivers, ecc...)

What I was trying to say is that SBE does not apply (and wont be used) if your viewing tv via the MVP, or the tv out connectors on the PVR350 or XCard.

If you're viewing the live tv on your PC monitor, which means you're using software playback via VM7/VMR9/Overlay, then SBE should be used. If you meet these criteria but are still having problems, SBE can be picky about which MPEG2 decoders it will work with, so you should try selecting a different MPEG2 decoder. The "System Default" mpeg2 decoder can sometimes pick one that doesn't work well with SBE.

I misunderstood: you are great! and Gb-Pvr is great too! That is only one that I can use (only one that really works !!!!!!..

There is no really easy way for you to tell which decoder is used by default. Its not really user friendly, but you can tell by using a tool called graphedit (by "rendering" and mpeg2 file).

Best bet probably just to try another decoder if you have one in the list. The Intervideo decoder that comes with the PVR250/350 cards seems to work well with SBE.

now I'm return on English Os (XpMce) and every works very very well.
