first off, i LOVE GBpvr and will still use it, this is more of a bug report.

my computer was dragging really slow, with a gig ram and a smoking cpu that never happens. i brought up the system tool thing(alt, ctl, delete) and notice over 30 programs marked (gbpvr.exe were running and using all the memory.

if i restarted the computer they all would come back up and drag the whole thing to the ground. after a system32 error crashed it for good the system was toast.

this has happened one time before and resulted in the same total crash.

i've re-installed the system and will re-installed GBpvr. i love the program so much i don't mind it killing the computer every couple of months. (smiles)

anyone else run into this???????????????????????????????????????????????

I haven't run into it having that many gbpvr sessions, but I do have mine consume all virtual memory and then need to be restarted. I've found the problem is related to My Videos... if you have a lot of videos it eats memory like crazy and I believe has a leak. If you run MVPs, each MVP server loads the plugins too, so it compounds your memory problem.

By the way, you might check Config and see if it's been inadvertantly configured to start a whole bunch of MVP servers. Each of them show up as a gbpvr.exe instance and would definitely put the hurt on your system.

Good luck,
Tim

Make soure you have the latest update if the .NET framework 1.1 (I believe its Service Pack 1), be sure not to get 2.0 though.

I've had the recording service freeze on me a few times so I have a nightly reboot scheduled at 5:00AM (shutdown -r -t 1) and I've set the machine up to auto login. So even if the recording service does freeze or runs out of memory or whatever it gets rebooted and everything is groovy again.
