There's a few persistant plugins that I can't get rid of. One is the weather plugin another is the VA Panel. I know that deselecting the plugin in the config app just makes the plugin invisible (weather data is still being fetched e.g.) The remove button is always greyed out for me, so that's no option.

Even if I remove the dll. I can still see in the log that e.g. weather forecast is being recieved, or at least that it tries too....

So how do I completely remove these?

I think the easiest way to do it is to remove the corresponding DLL from the Plugins directory. You will still have some unused stuff left (from skin directories, config files etc), but the plugin won't run.

Sorry.. just saw that you've tried that.. Very odd indeed..

If you delete the dll, I don;t see how the weather plug-in could still be trying to fetch weather since it won't be on your machine to run. Are you sure you deleted it from the plug-in directory? The weather plug-in can also be uninstalled via the windows installer. Go to add/remove programs from the control panel and you should see it.

if you edit the config xml, towards the bottom there should be a list of the plugins. you can remove them from there. highlight and delete the one you want to get rid of. make sure to make a backup first though.

Thanks for your replies. When coming home Windows had decided to "revert to an earlier stage" and after a number of reboots it seems that the problem is now solved. No more error about weather plugin, so perhaps I now can make a fresh install of the weather plugin again...
