@arttext,

No luck here either. It's Casema here and they also use many +/- channels. Antenna/Cable options do give different results, but still not everything is found, or is just off signal so I don't have sound (cable does find more though). It's annoying that wintv2k is the only thing that works now, so I still need it for recording/pausing (I'm having problems with wintvcap as well).

It looks like we really need a way to specify the freqs by hand.

Further no comments other than that gbpvr is excellent for me!

(Btw, I tried freqcopy, but it does not seem to have changed anything.)

Unfortunately there is no API for channel changing that allows me to specify a frequency, so you're probably stuck with have to enter the appropriate frequency overrides into the registry. (I'd rather not modify GB-PVR to perform this potentially dangerous action)

@sub,

When you say there is no API for channel changing by frequency, do you mean the .NET API then? I'm a bit puzzled by this, because apparently hauppage are able to do it somehow, I guess on a low level? I can understand that you would want to stick to a higher level API, so you can support different cards more easily.

More in general, does anyone here have a better experience with freqcopy? I don't like to re-invent the wheel if not necessary (I work in space industry where we do that all the time, so I'd like to do something else in my private life ;-).

No, I mean there is no public Microsoft API for changing to a channel at a specific frequency.

Yes, Hauppauge can do this. They use a private API that is not available to the "general public".

It worked great for me, all the channels (Amsterdam NL) are there. But (there's always one [Image: smile.gif]) I'd really like to know where they are stored, I can't find any file with them in it.
I'd like to know for a number of reasons.

1. I want to change some channel names, and delete a channel or two. I tried both in Config/Channels and in Config/Capture Sources.

2. I want to change the order of channels and the solution presented in http://gbpvr.com/cgi-bin....2;t=902 apparently doesn't work when you put in the channels manually.

3. And I want to make a backup of the channel settings of course.

BTW, the tuning table for UPC Amsterdam with the GB_PVR channels included is available as a word.doc. PM me.

And for Hansi; I sent U a pm

1/ Start the config app. Edit your capture source. Any channels you dont want, remove the tick from the 'enabled' checkbox. The channel names come from the XMLTV listing files, so cant be changed in GB-PVR.

2/ Change the order of the channels by editing the channel numbers on the main config notebook's channels tab (not in the capture source). Adjust these numbers to be in the order you like.

3/ Not so easy to do really, its part of the database file GBPVR.mdb.

Since I put them in myself I made a mistake to use ann illegal DOS character every now and then like "/" (I need proper DOS names to be able to give the logo's the same name). So I will work around it by unticking it, scanning that channel again and giving it another name. That should work.
I will backup the whole mdb then.
THX for the advice

Got all channels in GBPVR now. Tried freqcopy again and now I think I first used antenna tuning for it instead of cable. After that the tuning assistent found everything fine, including sound.

I found a few oddities when running the tuning assistent though:
- Most, but not all channels were in the range 12..3x with a channel at every index (number as given by the tuning assistent)
- The other channels were in the original place (e.g. 89, 86). These were channels already found before running freqcopy again.
- The frequencies shown by the tuning assistent are completely different from what my cable provider lists, but the channels are there and they are ok.

Anyway, I have all channels now, so no complaints at all.

Thanks for your support!
