I use GBPVR and transfer the files to my PSP. The down side is the my psp only has 1 gig of storage but by using a free tol PSPVideo9 I can compress a one hour show to ~200-250 meg. I can usually get a couple hours of TV on my memory stick which is plenty to get me through the day.

I can compress them and store them on my laptop if I go on the road.

I use a Palm Tungsten|C which has a 400mhz processor, 64mb of RAM, built-in wi-fi, and a built-in keyboard. It's VERY close to being a notebook computer replacement with all that it can do. In addition to the usual Palm PIM stuff, MP3, and videos, I also use it as a universal remote control (http://www.novii.tv) and even a GPS Navigation system in my car. It doesn't have the bigger screen of the newer Palms, but that's actually kind of nice since a 320x240 video plays VERY smooth on a 400mhz processor.

Wow...it only has 1GB of memory? I don't think you're getting much video on that.

I think we're comparing apples and oranges here -- the Creative Zen PMC's emphasize video far more than any other feature, whereas the Samsung seems to be more in competition with the iPod and other MP3 players.

I looked long and hard at the PSP instead of the Zen PMC. My son has always been a big fan of the Playstation line, owning a PS1 and PS2, but I read too many reviews that putting your own video on the PSP could be a tedious process with not much reward in the end in terms of quality. Apparently they did that on purpose so that people would buy the PSP movies instead of ripping full-sized DVD's that they already had and copying them to memory stick. My son was annoyed that it required yet another formfactor of games, and he stated something I found interesting as feedback from an only semi-technically minded 14-year-old: "Why didn't they just make it as big as a portable DVD player so that it could play PS2 games? I don't want to have to spend more money on new games." Haha. The common sense of children! I was still considering the PSP though -- it finished 2nd in personal research.

Have to say it looks pretty good..!

Thanks for that -- I couldn't find it! Then again, I had some adware thing take over my Google toolbar the other evening, and it may have only been showing me what it wanted to! (that was a BEAR to get rid of by the way!)

About the only drawback I can see to it is that the battery is not removeable so you can't bring along a second battery on a long trip or something. Other than that -- I 7" wide screen with excellent viewing angle and many supported video formats -- nice! The viewing angle on the Creative Zen PMC is minimal -- if it's not right in front of you, you're not seeing much.

I wonder why that hasn't made it to the states? Hauppauge is a USA company, right? They're based in Hauppauge, NY, aren't they? Or did a foreign company come in and buy/create their own small city in NY? haha (??)

Now if that would have been hard drive AND wireless...

You're right -- I see no wireless spec either. I just assumed it would be something wireless (without a hard drive) because it was a MediaMVP.
