How to get just the program name and not the whole path

I'm writing a script that does different things based on the name of the program.

Example:

if exist "Medium*" goto letterbox:

The problem is, %1 is giving me the full path to the file and not just the file name. Anyone know the variable to get just the filename?

I have a hard time keeping these straight:

%~f1 = file name only with extension
%~n1 = file name only without extension
%~n1.mpg = file name only without extension, but specify your own

%~n1_original.mpg will get you the original file after comclean has run.

The letter d gets you the drive letter, and letter p gets you the file path.
