I apologize in advance if this is posted somewhere already, but I could not find it. If it is please just post a link.

I would like to update to the newest version which has some features that I would enjoy; however, the version I am using now is working nicely and I am afraid of potential trouble. What steps do I need to follow to minimize headaches? Are there files that I need to backup so that I don't have to setup all of my capture sources and epg? or does the update procedure conserve these settings?

Thanks
Bill

I just installed over the old version, since I did not see any uninstall utility. It preserved all my program source and EPG settings with no problem. If you use skins, I think you may have to save those or reinstall them, but I don't use them. The new version has an uninstall utility in Windows Control Panel.

You can just install the new version over the old, and it will automatically retain all your existing settings.

If you're concerned about encountering problems, you might as well copy the whole c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr directory somewhere else as a backup. We can discuss how to get back to this version if the need arrises.

Just so you know, there is always the option to uninstall from the Add/Remove Programs icon in the Control Panel.

thanks for the quick response. Will let you know how it goes.

BTW; I am using one of tipsters skins; so I just revert to the default skin before updating and then download the new skin that will work with the new gbpvr version?

Yes, you probably best to switch back to the default blue, before or after the upgrade, then check for a new version before moving back to that skin.
