hi,

i've got gbpvr 0.95.16 running on windows xp pro with an agp radeon 9600 graphics card (output to tv using svideo). I've noticed that the edges of the output don't fill out the tv and would like to make it do so. I believe this is called overscan but I'm not sure. Can anyone help me to do this?

Any help would be appreciated.
My PVR:
Dell 400sc (really good choice since it's quiet)
P4 2.8ghz
1gb ddr400
PVR150MCE
PVR150
PVR250
Radeon 9600
300+40gb
GBPVR v1.2.13

hey rjaeger1. if the coverage of your desktop on your tv is fine, you may want to dig into the config.xml file in your GBPVR directory and search for the aspect ratio definitions:

<!-- Aspect Ratio settings -->
<AspectRatio0>0,0,1,1</AspectRatio0>
<AspectRatio1>0.08,0,0.92,1</AspectRatio1>
...

when viewing TV or video in GBPVR you can cycle through aspect ratios (F7 i think?!?). you can customize one of the aspect ratio settings to overscan your picture by say 10%:

<AspectRatio3>--0.05,-0.5,1.05,1.05</AspectRatio3>

if your desktop is also underscanned than you should dig into your ATI drivers settings...

hi chud, thanks for the response.

It looks like it's an ATI thing because the desktop does it too. I've looked through the ATI control panel and didn't see anything yet. Maybe the omega drivers have it...I'll give it a try. Thank you for the help.

On your desktop. right click, select properties.

When the screen properties dialog comes up, select settings, then selected advanced.

Now you should see some ATI tabs. One of them should say Display, select it.

In the lower left part of the tab sheet is a selection for the TV. It kinda looks like a folder with a tab. Click on the tab. It will open some options for screen size, and below that is the overscan option. Select it.

BTW, make sure your screen resolution is set to the max that the TV will support (1024x768 on mine), this will give better looking graphics and is especially noticable in text.

Good Luck

P.S. This is from memory which is failing...
