Viewing channel while recording bug?

I managed to truncate a recording last night accidentally and if I've understood how things are supposed to work, I reckon its down to a bug rather than me doing something stupid.

I have one Nova-T USB2 tuner, and it was recording a movie on BBC1. About 15 minutes before the end of the recording I went in (via the TV Guide) to view the channel, but instead of seeing the live stream it showed me the start of the recording so I quickly exited. When the movie finished, the recording appeared to be truncated from around the time I tried to view the channel and I lost the end Sad

Anyone come across this before?

Anyone know if this is a bug or by design?

No, it shouldnt be doing that. Reproduce it, then post a set of logs and I'll take a look.
