I'm using a Hauppauge 350 in software mode with Intervideo Non-CSS decoder and was wondering if it's possible to use FFDSHOW post-processing with the playback. I installed it, and changed some options but I don't think it's doing anything. I also enabled FFDSHOW support in the GB-PVR config.

It should work in this sitution. I dont FFDSHOW installed currently, so cant give you exact instructions, but try turning on the FFDSHOW On Screen Display. It dsplay frame rates etc, and is an easy way to tell its working.

From memory you have to explicitly pick the "Intervideo Non-CSS decoder" for you mpeg2 decoder. If you select "system default", FFDShow wont be used.

Thanks sub,

I turned on the OSD, and still got nothing.  I went into FFDSHOW's codec settings, and enabled it on RAW video, as I couldn't see another codec that would seem to work.  With RAW video, when going to Live TV on GB-PVR, I do see some green OSD text from FFDSHOW for about 1 sec, and then all video goes black, but the audio decoder still works.  I can exit out of the black screen back to the menu, but I get a soft lockup whenever I goto video.

I tried the MPEG2 codec within FFDSHOW, but it only has two options, lib2mpeg and another similiar codec.  Neither one I have installed.

Oh well, if anyone has any suggestions, I'll try them.  I just wanted to try and sharpen up my video output a little, as it looks a little soft compared to the 350's hardware output(which doesn't work reliably, come on Hauppauge!Wink

i am having the same problem with ffdshow in 0.22.7. The video goes black when i try to watch recordings. If I skip forward, it freezes on a frame but the audio continues playing normally.
