The files do play ok but are definitely different as can be seen using a tool such as "MpegAN GUI". It reports that that the audio "starts early" and the "Duration GOP" is doesn't show the duration of the recording as it does with mpegs recorded with the native DigiTV application. I assume the mpeg-players I'm using somehow manage to handle this av sync issue.

Guess I'll look for a demuxer that is capable of handling this as the players seem to manage ok!
