Do all I need to do is download this software afterinstalling the drivers from the card and thats it all will work or will I need to install other programs or plugins to get the software and tv card to work. does this software also support the remote functions using winxp pro service pack 2

thanks

My Sapphire Theatrix (the identical version of your MSI card with the Sapphire name) worked out-of-the-box with GB-PVR (after driver installation, of course) as did the Cyberlink remote. When you add a capture source in config, choose the Direct Recording Plugin, and set it up with the "ATi Theater 550 Pro" card type. Also, if I remember correctly, almost all manufacturers of T550P-based cards package them with the Cyberlink remote, so all you should have to do is choose the MCE Remote option in the "DVD & Remote" tab.

Thank you for the reply,

did you need to install a mpeg2 encoder or decoder and if so which one/s did you install?

thanks

Yes, you will need to install an MPEG2 decoder. Most DVD software installs one. Common ones are Intervideo, Cyberlink, nVidia etc

I also just bought the MSI 550Pro and have discovered the remote is NOT the same as the Sapphire. MANY of the buttons on the remote will NOT work with the current version of GBPVR (ie 'stop','rew','fwd','skip','record',etc. The only buttons that seem to work are the up/down,left/right and OK buttons.
