May I ask the "knowledgeable" people here, what MPEG2 decoder to use?
Does it make a difference?
I downloaded the Windows XP utility (DECCHECK) which checks for the default decoder in use, and found that I had Nero(Video and DVD), Cyberlink(video/SP video/PP, and MPEG), Ulead Video, and LeadTek DTV (I have a LeadTek card).
Which one do I use?
Should I use Nero if I want to go to burn DVD's?
Do they all have different file sizes that they produce?

Decoders are only used during playback, so they have no impact on size of the file produced at recording time.

From that list, I'd lean towards the Cyberlink (but may need to add the EnableVMR9 registry setting). Nero would probably be second on the list. I wouldnt use the Ulead or Leadtek ones.

Why not just try the installed ones and see which one works for you?
When I was set to certain ones, GBPVR would lock up while trying to view stuff while it was recording. I just switched things around until it worked. What works for me might not work for you unless we have identical systems.
