I have the msi 550pro running on xp pro service pack 2. The remote doesnt work fully the way i want it to even using hip. I also use a logitech Lx 700 ir keyboard. nothing i've tried seems to work fully with the msi remote.

all I want to do is run gbpvr on the computer Im not planning on intergrading it into my home system. The computer is for my daughter at school.

Will just a standard microsoft mce remote work or should I be looking at a different remote and which one?

Thanks

I dont know anything about the MSI remote, so I cant help you with that, but the two remotes that are best supported are the Hauppauge remote that comes with the Hauppauge retail versions of the PVR cards, or the MCE2005 remote shown here http://www.pcalchemy.com/product_info.ph...e-controls

Having a MCE remote I can tell you right after just simply plugging it in, you will get about 98% functionality without changing anythign in gbpvr. Plus with it's backlighting and being so inexpensive it makes for a good option.

Thank you for the reply's

I found 2 microsoft remotes

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6880100851

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6880100853

which one of these have you seen the best results with?

only issue is they seem to break within a short period of time

Is there another option with another remote?

Thanks again

Other than the Hauppauge remote option, you can use a USB-UIRT receiver with virtually any remote.
