Hi,

Just got my hands on a new system. It is a P4 2.4 with one gig of ram running WIN XP PRO and a PVR 150MCE.

All seems to be installed ok but the hauppauge decoder. I have tried to install the latest one from the hauppage page a few times but all I get is the hauppage splash screen come up for a second and then close. I am running the sonic decoders now but I would liike to install the hauppauge ones as well. Has any one else run in to this problem?

Thanks

Yes, I ran into that same issue, twice in fact. First time I had futzed around with a trial version of WinDVD, so I think that decoder was preventing the install. Then I decided to blast the install and start over clean. Installed all the drivers and patches for the hardware and OS, then tried to do the decoder... same crap. I didn't have the desire to try to figure it out so I did another clean install of WinXP. Installed the Hauppauge driver and then the decoder. Then I installed the drivers for the rest of the crap and patched the XP install.

The decoder setup program looks for the Hauppauge drivers (and they must be installed and working). This is to prevent people from illegally using the InterVideo codecs.

Well that might be the problem... I was installing from Hauppauge page and running the hardware cleaner each time. When I had the card in my other pc I had a pvr250 installed that went dead so all the old 250 stuff was installed I just used the new driver on the 150 disk. I will run the hardware cleaner then try to install the codec off the old pvr 250 disk before the new one.

Thanks for your time.
