Hi,
I have a problem with playback and live-tv. I have a picture but no sound. All I get is a brief burst of static and then nothing.
Background: I have a pvr-150MCE installed on an XP-SP2 system. When I first installed gbpvr I had the reverse. Sound but no picture. After reading some threads here, I installed the latest drivers from hauppauge along with wintv. This gave me the picture but now I've lost the sound.
WinTV works perfectly. Pic+sound. Recording is fine. If I record with gbpvr I can watch the recording on wintv no probs.
My config options for audio decoder let me choose (1) system default. (2) MPEG audio (3) Intevideo Audio (4) Nero audio. I've tried all and the result is the same.
Hope someone can help me out with this.
Thanks,
Greg.

Audio problems are pretty common with the PVR150. All I can suggest is trying some different drivers and hopefully you'll find one that works well on your setup.

WinTV is a bit of special case since it doesnt use the standard directshow interfaces.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response. I confess I don't understand, likely my ignorance on gbpvr. How does the 150 impact gbpvr playback ? The same problem occurs if I try to watch a dvd ripped with dvdshrink. Ignoring liveTV for the moment, anything recorded with gbpvr can be watched using wintv, but even programs that weren't recorded through the 150 have no sound with gbpvr. If you still believe it's the decoder, can you recommend anything I should try ?
Thanks again,
Greg.

Try playing a file, then zip and attach your gbpvr.exe-native.log and I'll take look.

Same problem for me, Greg. But this is a workaround. When the computer starts, a batchfile with this command is executed:
C:\PROGRA~1\WinTV\WinTV2K.EXE -c41 -nss -nc -ntod -startr -limit:1 -exitr -mute
WinTV 2000 records for just 1 second a file. After this the sound in GBPVR works.

Quote:13:57:41.406 VERBOSE Graph contains the following filters:
13:57:41.406 VERBOSE - Default DirectSound Device
13:57:41.406 VERBOSE - Video Renderer
13:57:41.406 VERBOSE - ffdshow Audio Decoder
13:57:41.406 VERBOSE - InterVideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge
13:57:41.406 VERBOSE - DVD Navigator
First thing I'd try doing is uninstalling ffdshow. It can do amazing things, but also seems to cause problems for a a lot people.
