I am running on an AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.0 GHz machine with 1.5 GB of RAM on a Gigabyte GA-7ZX motherboard and needless to say it sometimes takes more than a few seconds to respond to remote control commands. It would be nice to display some sort of animation in the corner or otherwise to show it took the response from the remote and it is at least trying to do something. Even something as simple as a quick highlight or blink of the button that was selected with the OK button. Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the cursor to even move to the next button after pressing an arrow button on the remote. I'm not sure how to show that it is even trying to move to the next button. Maybe show the busy animation in the corner after pressing the arrow key? Just an idea that I came up with a little while ago and wanted to "write down" before I forgot.

If you aren't using an MVP, you might be able to use the BleepBloop plugin to at least give you an audible notification that it received the remote command. You can find it on the Wiki.

The problem you can anticipate with showing a "busy" indicator is that *all* drawings on the screen takes time, hence would it also take time before the "busy indicator" would show. This is just a theory I have, I don't know if I'm correct or not.
I'm not always right

ive added something like this to the new my series of plugins, whenever you enter a directory etc, it will force a repaint and change display a "marked" selector. entering some directories etc can take a few seconds (eg on a network or a crap load of files) and you're left there wondering if you pushed enter.
