Greetings and Salutations everybody,

First of all a big shout out of THANKS to sub for a great piece of software. It's amazing to see something of such quality being offered at no charge. Fantastic.

Is there a heirarchy when it comes to installing Plug-Ins? I just want images on my library folders, Weather, DVD ripping/authoring, and be able to use it all with the MVP to the extent possible.

Now that I've got 96.08 set up and working 98% the way I want it, I've been contemplating additions that will add the functionality and little nuances I want. I've been reading and reading about each of the plug-ins and find myself a little confused. Some seem to overlap and some do the same things with different tools.

All I really want is:
1.)weather - this seems simple and I should have no problem.
2.)to have the nifty little images associated with my folders, recordings and mp3s, and maybe guide channels.
3.)to be able to burn my recordings to a DVD that will play on the crappiest of cheapo DVD players.
4.)be able to save DVDs to the hard disk and view over the MVP.

If I could get some suggestions on which plug-ins would be best for these things and in which order they are best installed, I would be most appreciative.

Please keep in mind that I'm a bit of a doofus and I'm slowly getting a handle on all the intracacies of encoding, muxing and all that, so please go easy. Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Jeff

Oh well, I'll just forge ahead and see how it turns out.

I almost want to just leave it alone now that it's working. I just know that after one of the plug-in installs things are going to be jacked up in one way or another.

I plan on installing the following in the following order:
-Weather
-My Videos
-My Music
-My Pictures
-Channellogos utility

Got my fingers crossed. Wish me luck.
