I am using the language file to change XRecord to Recordings. However the file keeps getting deleted. I make the file from the .ignore, and then after a few restarts of GB-PVR it will be gone. Somehow I don't even have the language.xml.ignore file either. Can someone either upload theirs, or just copy and past the syntax.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes I've been seeing this too but there were other problems of greater import to me

It is overwritten when you click the OK button in the config app. You need to put the file in the new Language directory, and add it the SelectLanguage.xml file.

Thanks, that works much better. I created a new language called Guide, and put the translations I need into it.
In case anyone else may need it here is the contents of the file:

<language>
<translate originalText="XGuide" translatedText="TV Guide"/>
<translate originalText="XRecord" translatedText="Recordings"/>
<translate originalText="XSearch" translatedText="Guide Search"/>
</language>

How did you configure this. I still can't get it to work for me.

I have the translations set up in a file called "language.ansa.eng.xml"

<language>
<translate originalText="My Pictures" translatedText="Image Library"/>
<translate originalText="Theater" translatedText="Theater Info"/>
<translate originalText="Videos" translatedText="Video Library"/>
<translate originalText="Browse the TV Guide and select programmes to record" translatedText="Browse the TV Guide and select programs to record"/>
<translate originalText="My Programs" translatedText="Programs"/>
<translate originalText="Launch your applications, utilities, games or your favourite emulators" translatedText="Launch applications, utilities, games or emulators"/>
<translate originalText="View programmes you have recorded. Browse or remove future scheduled recordings" translatedText="View recorded programs. Browse or remove future scheduled recordings"/>
<translate originalText="XRecord" translatedText="Video Library"/>
<translate originalText="My Videos" translatedText="Video Library"/>
<translate originalText="Rip DVDs from your DVD drive to you hard drive" translatedText="Rip DVD to the hard drive"/>
</language>

and I have this file in the list of language selections

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<languages>
<language name="Nederlands" file="language.ansi.dut.xml"/>
<language name="Deutsch" file="language.ansi.deu.xml"/>
<language name="Italiano" file="language.ansi.ita.xml"/>
<language name="Français" file="language.ansi.fra.xml"/>
<language name="Español" file="language.ansi.spa.xml"/>
<language name="Svenska" file="language.ansi.swe.xml"/>
<language name="Norsk" file="language.ansi.nor.xml"/>
<language name="Dansk" file="language.ansi.dan.xml"/>
<language name="Suomi" file="language.ansi.fin.xml"/>
<language name="English" file="language.ansi.eng.xml"/>
</languages>

But it doesn't work, I do not get any "tranlastions"

Thanks
John

My bet is you just have to merge your "language.ansa.eng.xml" with gbpvr "language.ansi.eng.xml" and place into gbpvr\language\ directory. Close gbpvr. Start config, select english language in general panel, start gbpvr again. You are done!
