The RF output on your satellite box will only ever be carrying the single channel that your set top box is tuned to. If you want to change channels, then you need to change channels on the set top box. GB-PVR can do this automatically for you, but it needs to use an IR Blaster.

An IR Blaster effectively pretends to be the satellite box's remote. For example, if GB-PVR needs to change to channel 227, then it send fake remote key presses '2', '2', '7'.

Make sense?

I can't get the ir blaster to change the channels on the satelite box. The remote changes the channels in GBPVR but it stays on the same channel just changes the channel name on the bottom of the screen. Is there a step I am missing?

Maybe I was wrong isn't the blaster the bean-bag thing that plugs into the USBport? If that isn't a blaster what do i need to get?

The bean bag thing you refer to that ships with ATI card is just a receiver for the Cyberlink remote.
