Maybe it's just me, but I'm having some problems with my Hauppauge remote. I have changed the setting to direct connect, removed IR.exe from the startup, as well as updated the button config. through the dvd and remote tab with the remote button number.
When I have gb-pvr running, as it would at start up, I am unable to open/start the gb-pvr to be able to view tv.

Manually starting GB-pvr the remote works.. However, the Volume button controls the channels too. Along with the mute and the previous channel button.. Anyone know how to resolve these problems??
Thanks!
Steven

Are you using the 45 button remote? I think that it's not supported with the direct access setting. You'd probably be better off using ir.exe in such case.
I'm not always right

Indeed I am using the 45'r.. So I uncheck the direct and go to my cable settings and change the setting to look at the Ir.exe? That correct?
Does GB have to be started in order to use the remote/wake up from standby?

GBPVR will have to be started in order to use the remote. If you search the forum, it has been discussed how to tweak ir.ini so you can start gbpvr with the remote.

GBPVR will not have to be started in order to wake up the computer from standby automatically, but the recording-service needs to be running.

Have you ever ran into a pop up window titled "IR startup" with the info of Found Ir Controller (30) FW version=16?
I received this once I changed my settings for the remote.
