Attaching example - a GBPVR shortcut (I believe they all look like this) and just as an example, Notepad original shortcut from Accesories.

It's not the shortcut disabled - it's the "TARGET" field disabled (and always reads "GB-PVR" - as opposed to the actuall target of "exe" or "bat" or whatever).

Yeah, sure its different to the to notepad, but I dont think there is anything strange about them. Thats just the way Windows Installer does it.

This is the first time in two years anyone has mentioned it, so I'm sure its not bothering anyone else either.

Yeah, it's no biggy, was just curious.
The only thing is, that if for example you want to run those items from somewhere else, you don't know what is being executed, with which flags, etc.

It's just not common. I know, the office shortcuts are like that as-well. But mostly they look like the "Notepad" one (where I can copy the EXE line... Smile )

I think I know what you're talking about madcat. If you copy the GBPVR shortcut and paste it somewhere else (for example, in the quickstart menu on the taskbar), after you upgrade GBPVR, that shortcut no longer works. It gives some error about the path not being valid when in fact it is, but for some reason the installer munged it. Have to recreate the shortcut from the gbpvr.exe file.

Yep, that's another symptom of those "other" shortcuts. They seem to point to an object rather to just a path of executable.

One more quirk of it: I assigned a keyboard shortcut to one of these (CTRL-ALT-G for GPBVR) but after the upgrade the kb-shortcut won't work, and I can not even re-assign this kb-shortcut to anything now (formatted since then, so I don't care, and I made hand-made shortcuts to gbpvr.exe and config.exe just in case...).
