I've seen mention of this problem in at least two other posts, but it looks like a solution was never proposed. I'm running an HDTV Wonder along with a WinTV 350 and a WinTV PVR USB2, 1 gig RAM, hyperthreaded 3.0 P4. Everything generally runs well on GBPVR thanks to occasional help/fixes I've gotten on this forum. But I can't get sound on my HDTV Wonder.
The video looks great, just no sound. I've tried the recommended AC3filter remedy to no avail. It should be noted that when I run MCE2005 on the same system, I get perfect sound on OTA channels tuned through the HDTV Wonder. With GBPVR, I've tried every (I think) video and audio codec on the machine, and none have succeeded in giving me sound with HD. (GBPVR has no problem playing sound with channels tuned through the WinTV 350 and WinTV PVR USB2. But as soon as I tune to an HD channel, the picture is splendid and the silence is deafening.)
What is MCE 2005 using to get the sound to work with the HDTV Wonder? It seems like it would just be a matter of recreating the MCE 2005 settings on GBPVR. Is there a MUXER setting that I'm missing? A codec? Does GBPVR not like the driver? Seems strange that everything else works so smoothly and the sound stubbornly refuses to play.
