Remote to close other applications?

Can I use my happuage remote to close emulator programs that I have opened through the My Programs plugin? I can set a keyboard key to be the quit command in the emulator itself but don't know where I need to add that to the irremote.ini file

IF there is no simple way of doing it you can always use HIP. RE-map all the buttons on the remote through HIP to do whatever you want. I guess you'd probably keep most of them the same, but it gives you the scope to change whatever you need to.

Kinda extreme when all you want to do is change the function of one button. But it certainly will work.

Well I got it to work...once. It seems that if I go into an emulator and press the button I desginated to quit, it will quit the emulator. However, if I go back into an emulator and try to use the button on the remote nothing happens. If I restart IR.exe then it will work but only for that one time. Any ideas?

It sounds like a focus issue. ie, the remote only sends the command when the program is the current active window. If so, you can may be able to modify your irremote.ini to do what you want, even when the window does not have focus.

You can check to see if focus is your problem by starting another program, trying your remote, then switching back to your program and trying again. If it closes, then it is a focus issue.
