I'm running gbpvr on a Windows XP Home box with a Hauppauge 150 tuner.

I LOVE gbpvr - but I'm having a few problems surrounding Standby. I've tried searching the forum for other solutions and have RTFM, but found no help.

If I schedule recording(s) and put the computer in Standby, it wakes up, does the recording and goes back to standby.

But if I hit the power switch to wake from Standby, the IR is disabled when it comes back up, so I have to exit gbpvr with the mouse, start IR manually, and then start gbpvr again.

A related question is, if I start recording a show and then go away, the PC stays on until I manually put in standby. Is there a way to have it automatically go into standby after the recording is done, as it does when it wakes itself up to make the recording?

TIA

Sorry no. There is no built in functionality to do this.

Search the forums for wake.cmd. You should be able to adjust that script to make it restart ir.exe for you

People use the Windows power management for this.

go to http://www.sysinternals.com and download the pstools from there. I was able to use the psshutdown command to manipulate the pc to hibernate, sleep on a certain amount of time after the recording with combination of the postprocessing.bat and parallelprocessing.bat.

For example, when gbpvr finished a recording, it kicks off postprocessing.bat to hibernate computer the next amount of time. If there is another backup within the amount of time, the next recording will kick of parallelprocessing.bat to cancel the previous hibernate command.

parallelprocessing.bat script:

ping -n 10 127.0.0.1
psshutdown -a

postprocessing.bat script:

psshutdown -f -h -t 3000
