Hello,

I wondered if anyone can confirm that Hipsend works with a UK Sky Digibox (STB)? I'm using an MCE 2005 remote model 2A.

I'm trying to set up GB-PVR and although I can get the IR blaster to flash, and have tried many different positions, including up against the Digibox IR sensor, I can't seem to get the Digibox channels to change.

I'm at the stage of teaching Hip the remote codes for the STB remote control. Within Hip I tried the "Test Send IR" option but, although the IR Blaster is flashing it does not change the STB to the selected number.

I previously tried using the built in MCE blaster support of GB-PVR 97.7, and here again, although the blaster flashed in response to e.g. selecting a TV Guide programme to watch, it had no effect on the STB channel numbers.

I've searched the forum but can't find anyone who seems to have the Digibox channel changing working.

Thanks,

Can anyone please help?

Try these, I'm pretty sure they worked for a freind of mine using a australian foxtel pace box that uses the same codes. We had problems getting the learning to work relialbly and ended up finding these inside a ccf file at remote central. I don't have the mce blaster hardware so can't verify them.

Just to confirm - I have a sky digibox which I use in Spain to get UK sky signals. I have an mce2005 remote and MS wireless k/board but have never been able to get it/them to change channels. But I am a newbie so that's no guide! I tried to program using hip but never got anywhere. IMHO the seeming inability of gbpvr to work easily and well with a digibox, and the poor epg setup are weaknesses in an otherwise super piece of software.

Thanks a lot Daza67. I'll give that a try later.

After I posted I did discover a variety of digibox CCF files which I tried to import and assign. The strange thing is that some of the keys worked fine and reliably and some would not work at all. But at least they worked, confirming that the system was okay.

I still can't figure out why none of the 'learned' IR codes from my digibox remote worked. I would have thought that was the same kind of process. I'm pretty sure it's not an IR blaster positioning error, since I know now it works with CCF codes and I tried a huge range of positions.

On Arjay's point, I'm inclined to agree. The core package is terrific, but getting from there to EPG scheduling of digibox recordings is pure hell. And I'm still cooking there :-)

Thanks.

You may want to try learing them off a alternative remote that is able to control your stb. Most of the pace stb's seem to accept multiple ir command sets. In my case I use a tira2 blaster, it refused to learn reliably off the foxtel supplied remote. I had another cheap pre-programed remote that had a command set that worked with the pace stu. The tira2 learned these commands without a problem.

Thanks daza67.

I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a 'generic' Sky Digibox remote, although the design of the box is standardised across different manufacturers. I have a Panasonic TU-DSB30 Digibox. The only other remote I have that works has been 'taught' by me from the original digibox remote. But maybe it's worth a try.

I have managed to get it to work using hipsend but it was never 100% reliable.
