Trying to get gbpvr to work with Hauppauge HVR-1600 over analog

I have a Hauppauge HVR-1600 tuner card that I'm trying to get working with gbpvr.

I got the capture source settings as follows but when I select "Live TV" nothing happens.

Source Name: Hauppauge HVR-1600
Recording Source: Analog Recording Plugin
EPG Source: None
Channel Changer: No Channel Changer Required

Recording Source Settings
Capture Card Type: Hauppauge HVR-1600 (Analog)
Country: USA
Board Number: Capture Device #1
Source: Internal Tuner
Tuning: Cable

Is this an incompatibility or something else?

Do you have any channels setup on that capture source?

I think you can run the tuning asisstant in the gbpvr folder to find out what tuning numbers go with which broadcast channels.

I haven't manually added any channels. How do I do that?

Add channel button on the capture source setup screen.
You'd be better off using an EPG though, or you won't know what's on.
(and if you load an EPG file, it will list all of your channel for you, then you just have to add the tuning info to them)

Alright thank you. I added the channels manually since I cant seem to find a decent free XMLTV service for my area.

Have you looked into mc2xml as a free XMLTV service? I thought it worked through out the states.

Wow thank you. That's the first program that's worked for me. All the other i have tried either made me use schedules direct or failed to retrieve any information.
