Hey guys I have an interesting issue.

I have a Hauppauge PVR150 26xx series. I downloaded the latest version of GB-PVR and configured it similarly to how I had it configured in a previous version. If it helps, my output video card is an ATI Radeon 9200SE.

When I load up GB-PVR and go to the LiveTV, I get a blank black screen. No static, no sound, no on-screen options (like you usually get while watching livetv), nothing. Im not sure if this is a problem with my setup or even where to begin.

One very interesting thing to note is that the tuning assistant plays livetv just fine as it scans the channels. This indicates to me the card is functioning properly.

Id really appreciate any light you can shed on this issue for me.

I disabled live preview mode on a hail mary and it actually loaded up livetv.

What exactly is live preview mode? Any idea why it causes a blank screen?

I thought I'd respond, just so you don't feel that nobody cares...

I had this problem. Have an ati Radeon 9250 and the same 150. I tried everything... Nothing

I ended up reinstalling windows and GBpVR etc. It worked out just as easily as it used to. Must have been something to do with registry or driver.

I'm sorry that I don't have a solution for you, other than the extreme of reinstall...

I was planning on the reinstall anyway, as I just bought a new 300Gb drive, so it was not much of a problem. But once I did get it working, I used NTBackup to grab the system state.

Just two days ago, I caught a virus :o and used that backup to get me back up quite quickly..

I used to ask 'why?' Now I just reinstall...

Live preview mode mode bypasses recording to the harddrive when watching LiveTV. The advantage being very quick channel changes. It takes the raw digital video stream from the TV capture cards and feeds it directly to the video card via a de-interlacing filter. But some combinations of capture card and video card can't work that way, and require 'encoder pass-through' deinterlacing which uses the MPEG2 encoder and decoder back-to-back linked together (but still bypassing the harddrive).
