I have a Kworld (Conexant 878a chipset based card) that as far as I can tell is almost exactly the same as the V-Stream card that this software is supposed to work with. In fact, one of my friends ordered the same exact Kworld card that I have, from the same website, but about 3 weeks later, and it came in a V-Stream box. I think it is the same exact card.

Anyway, I thought I would try the GB-PVR software out. So far, I haven't even been able to get it to complete the installation process. I'm running Windows XP with service pack 2 on an AMD Duron 2800, 512 MB RAM. I haven't had this sort of trouble before. I get a long error message:

Error 1935 An error occurred during installation of assembly 'wmppia, version = "9.0.0.3095", Culture = "neutral", PublicKey Token = "31bf3856ad364e35," GUID = "6bf52a50 - 394a - 11d3 - b153 - 00c04f79faa6"' HResult: 0x8002802f

After this, the installation progress bar actually rolls backwards, and the installation exits. It happens every time, so I can't seem to get the install to complete at all.

Occasionally, I also get another error before the one above during the install process: Internal Error 2908 {A31ffc4c - 7a78 - 4b48 - b816 - 571be429ecb9" I'm not sure how important this is, and it doesn't show up every time, but I thought I would put it here anyway.

Anyone have any hints on what I might be able to do to actually get this program installed and try it out? Thanks!

Thanks, guys! I never would have thought of possibly needing to install one program before another would install correctly, but that did the trick. Now I get to look at all the neat features, that (unfortunately) I evidently still can't access. Anyone know if this software is compatible with the Conexant 878a chipset? (one of the most popular in use 2 to 3 years back)

No its not. You need a modern card like a Hauppauge PVR150 or ATO 550 Pro.
