I had my GB-PVR box up and running perfectly until I broke my capture card. I just replaced it and thought it would be a cinch to make it run just as well as it did before. No such luck.

Since getting the computer back up and running, I updated to the latest version of GB-PVR available. It seems to work fine, except that it crashes every single time I try to play a DIVX file. It gets the generic Windows message about needing to be shut down. The file DOES play in the background, but I can't see it through the ugly Windows error.

Since I set up the box to convert everything to DIVX, I don't have any non-DIVX files to see if thats the problem. I did upgrade to the latest version of DIVX... same problem, kept crashing.

Any ideas here?

It probably the divx decoder you're using, do you know which one you've got installed, and what version?

Do the same files play fine in Windows Media Player?

Okay, a bit more info for ya. I recorded a show and watched it before it was converted to DIVX... the MPEG stream also crashed GB-PVR. This crashes it every single time I try to play a file, whether through "Recorded Shows" or "Videos".

Live TV works okay.

The videos/recorded shows in both DIVX format and MPEG play just fine in Windows Media Player. The recorded shows even play fine in GB-PVR, but they're hidden by the Windows error. If I leave the error up on the screen, the video will continue to play in the background. When I close the error message, GB-PVR crashes.

Any ideas?

Its probably some funny directshow component installed on your machine. Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take alook.

Etacovda, it looks like your problem is just because you're using an old version of the MyVideos plugin which is not compatible with the current release.

Quote:7/19/2006 9:28:59 PM.625 ERROR [7] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION:: System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'GBPVR.Backend.Common.ScheduleHelper GBPVR.Backend.Common.ScheduleHelper.getInstance()'.
at MyVideosPlugin.MyVideosEvent.GetGuideData()
at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()

Delete it's DLL from the plugins directory and you should be ok.
