MVP on wireless will not allow recorded programs to load

Hi All...

This is my situation. I have a mvp working on my family room tv and networked wirelessly (Linksys 54G gameport adapter) to my media server in another room via a Linksys 54g access point. Wireless network has excellant signal strength. MVP connects with no problem and I am able to go through the GB-PVR menu with no problems too. The problem is when I try to play a recorded show. When I try connecting to it, the MVP freezes and I get a blank screen. Any suggestions. Music plays fine though. Thanks.

I was hoping to hear from people that may have had some luck or not have some luck using the MVP and a Linksys wireless game adapter. ??

Does it work over the wire network? If that works, then you can test a lower bitrate recording on the wireless to see if it improves anything.

Yes it works on a wired connection just fine. How do I lower the bitrate? Do I do that through GB-PVR???

In the config app, edit your capture source, edit the recording source settings. At the bottom this screen is the list of recording profiles. You can edit each of these profiles to specify whatever bitrate you want. The 'medium' profile is used when you a quick record, and is the default in most other cases, so is probably the one you want to edit.

Of course, this will only help future recordings, not recordings you've already made.
