Common Language Runtime error

I installed the latest version of the software, but running either the config or the actual program result in a "Common Language Runtime Debugging Services" error that states the "Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=(random numbers), Thread id=(more randow numbers) Click OK to terminate the application. Click Cancel to debug the application."

Has anyone had anything similar? I didn't see a search ability in the forum, so I scanned the topics for the past month without seeing anything that appeared to be on this topic.

Any help you could give would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil

You have to have the Microsoft .net v1.1 runtime installed on your machine. You can get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloa....Lang=en

After you install it, you should uninstall GB-PVR and reinstall it.

Thanks for the search link...  I guess for some reason my eyes were only focusing on everything below the header....

Anyway, I have .Net 1.1 installed so I'm not sure what the problem is.  I was able to direct the specific error information to a log file, and I get the following:
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">

This appears to point to some problems with the .net installation, so I'm going to try a complete uninstall and reinstall and see what I can come up with....

Thanks,
Phil

Well, I figured it out...

The uninstall and reinstall of .Net 1.1 didn't fix the problem. It appears that my previous install of 1.0 was corrupted. I wasn't able to uninstall 1.0, either...

So I found the following URL:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp...-US;320112

This walks you through how to do a manual uninstall in case your install crashed - not exactly the same situation, but most of the steps are still applicable. After performing those steps, and reinstalling 1.1, I'm up and running!
