You may wish to start by stripping-out the registry patches. Launch Regedit and navigate the tree structure to the 'GBPVR' sub-key within the specific decoder key. Right-click the 'GBPVR' sub-key and select delete. This will take you back to where you were prior to applying the patch.
Alternatively you can play with the settings in the 'GBPVR' sub-key of the decoder.
The Intervideo Registry patch did 5 things:
1. Enabled DXVA
2. Enhanced DXVA to include HWCOLOR and HWMC acceleration (specific to Intervideo)
3. Enabled VMR7/9 capability (but application chooses which renderer is actually used)
4. Ensured 'auto' de-interlacing (default anyway)
5. Enabled DD/DTS 5.1 audio decoding.
The two key parameters are DXVA and VMR
