Hi all,

I've been trying for the last 2 weeks to convert ripped DVDs to SVCDs so i can play them on the MVP. I use DVDDecrypter to rip, DVDshrink to reauthor to main movie, DVD2AVI to demux and save project as .d2v and .wav files, then load up TMPGEnc to encode.

Problem is that the audio is off by 1 or 2 seconds. I've tried messing with fps; i've tried converting AC3 to MP2 and muxing with TMPGEnc, but the bottom line is nothing works!

(i've also tried mencoder; but can't seem to fix the 'too many audio packets' error).

Strange thing is, MVP plays recordings from BeyondTV just fine (using either GBPVR MVP server or Hauppauge software). Also, when i play the SVCD version of a DVD on a PC, it is in perfect sync.

Help! I've been pulling my hair out for 2 weeks trying to do this. I've read through these forums multiple times, tried whatever suggestions i could find, but nothing is working.

Anyone have any thoughts? or maybe a fool-proof way to convert my DVD collection to SVCD so i can play on MVP?

Thanks,
Rick

Try the DVDtoMPEG plugin which is part of the VideoArchive Plugin

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/VideoArchive

Works a treat :-)

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been playing with VA all afternoon.

Is there a way to tell it to convert a 'folder' of vobs on a hard drive as opposed to using DVDDecrypter to rip it from a DVD drive? I can't seem to figure out a way to do that, as i've already ripped a number of dvds to my HDD, then reauthored for just the main movie.

thanks!

Not sure, you could maybe try the Plugin & Skin support Forum for help with this plugin.
