Comskip and Transcoded files

I love my GB-PVR, I just wish I had a larger hard drive <grin>.

Is there a way to convert the mpegs into smaller files that use less disk space (divx, xvid, etc.) in a way that the comskip information still works?

I've not tuned my comskip settings so I don't want to strip out the commercials before converting.

Is there a way to automate this?

On the current release, GB-PVR isnt able to tell the frame rate of some AVI files. Its fixed for the next release. This stops comskip from working correctly in those cases where it wasnt able to detect the frame rate.

Hopefully within the next two weeks

How often do you do new releases?

There is usually about a six to eight week gap between major releases (ie, v0.97 to v0.98). After a major release there is usually a point release within a week or two. After that there may be patches supplied if anything critical pops up.
