Hi, my computer that has my tuner card has no internet access whatsoever, but I would really love to have the tv guide information available. I live in north america, so I use Zap2It, and there are many tools available for downloading their tv listings (here is just one: http://bb.labs.zap2it.com/viewtopic.php?t=17 ).

Is there a way I can download the tv listings from a computer with internet access and put it in a certain directory or name it a certain thing so gb-pvr can use it instead of trying to connect to zap2it itself?

Is this a uncommon feature or is it something I can do with other programs? I truly believe gbpvr is by far the best program for tv viewing on my computer, but in this particular case the ability to download tv listing data from elsewhere and import it is a make or break deal for me.

Cant' read that thread, it's password protected. Is the file downloaded in an xmltv format? In such case, you can tell gbpvr you have an xmltv file, and point the config to that file, and gbpvr will read it each night and update its listings. You will, of course, have to see to it that the file is up to date yourself Wink

I see no reason why you can not use the I-XMLTV to do this... you would basically create the config on the system with internet access, and then after the big xml is created take that and maybe the the intermediates as well.. put in same directory on gbpvr box and force another update. it should then check the files... find they are up to date and import into gbpvr's db.

at least in theory!
