Hi, I want to be able to transcode the recordings I made from TV to a smaller format. However, my GBPVR system is only hooked up to the TV so there are a few things I need:

1. The recording must still appear in the "my recordings" list, and GBPVR must be able to play it.
2. The transcoding should, ideally, be lossless, or at least near lossless.
3. I do not want to run comclean, but I do want the comskip functionality, that is, the dark green sections still appear when playing the file, but are skippable by pressing the play button on the remote.

Is this even possible?

Thanks

Does this keep the movies in the "recorded shows" list? Is the quality near lossless?

Afaik it keeps the recordings in the list, that's what the "update database to point etc..." checkbox is for.
Wrt quality: You can change the options in config.xml to your needs.
You might want to check out the ffmpeg options: http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/ffmpeg-doc.html
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,

I followed this tutorial: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ommercials

And put it in my postprocessing.bat folder. I get xvid files that are much smaller and since it runs through ffdshow the quality is a bit better. Before that point I followed this: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...+videoredo to cut out tv commercials. It auto-deletes all the files at the end except for the transcoded one.

I'm amazed at how well the system works. Its incredible.

Can I still watch them through the GBPVR "recorded programs" menu?
