Hello, there's no sound when I watch livetv (HDTV with Fusion 5) on GBPVR. I used system default for both audio decoder and audio renderer. Also, I can't seem to record shows with the fusion 5 card. The recorded files would turn up with 2 kb only. I recently installed intervideo and set the BDA multiplexer to use its mux. The activevideo window would also turn up every time I start a recording. What am I doing wrong?

I wouldnt recommend the Intervideo mux. Its been the worst of the bunch. With ATSC HDTV, the Microsoft DVR-MS mux seemed to do the best job.

hello sub, thanks for the quick reply.

I change the mux to DVR-MS but I still can't record hdtv shows. Everytime I schedule a recording, the active video window shows up (no sound) and this time around I don't even see a file being created for the recording.

I can watch HDTV shows in LiveTV but no sound. I tried several audio codec but none of them worked.

Rght now, I have PVR150 and Fusion 5 installed. I'm using Nvidia video and audio codec. DVR-MS for BDA.

Help!!

The active window problem was fixed with a patch regarding ATSC issues, see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=17730

As for the sound, tell us more about your environment. Are you using an external receiver? are you getting sound through FusionHDTV?

I am using NVidia decorder which works best with HDTV, I tried several that caused me issues.

The problem is with the Nvidia codec. For some reason it doesn't like to play nice with the Fusion 5. You need to use a different audio codec. Also, it will help if you specify your audio renderer rather than choosing System Default.

Hello zaldwaik and daphatty, i'm not using an external receiver. Playback and recording is fine through FusionHDTV software. I'm going to try the other option and see if one of those works. Can you guys tell me what audio decoders you are using? Thanks a lot!! :-)

Have you tried ffdshow? It's what I use for ac3 decoding.

If I had a nickel for every time someone has made this statement. :p

Comparing the playback in the Fusion app to the playback in GBPVR is an "apples to oranges" comparison. The fusion app uses the proprietary WDM drivers whereas GBPVR uses the BDA drivers. The only thing that the fusion app is useful for is testing the card itself and to gauge the signal strength of the channel you are testing with.

I am using the Nvidia Video codec with the MPEG audio codec (aptly named MPEG Audio) that is installed with the Fusion app.
