After upgrading to a new TV-set I found that i needed to give my xvid's a few more bits to get good quality (mainly blocking artifacts became visible). This caused the size of files to increase and I now found out that files bigger than 1 gb do not play in any directshow based player (they do play in the divx player). The fiels were transcoded with mencoder and xvid codec.

Graphedit gives this error:
The graph could not change state.
The file format is invalid (return code 0x8004022f).

This happens for every file over 1.064.000 KB.

Any ideas?

I just found what is going on. There seems to be a bug in the last version of mencoder explained in this treath: http://forums.dvbowners.com/index.php?sh...027&st=380

adding the option -noodml prevents mencoder from writing the oodml header for files larger than 1 gb. Files now play fine in GBPVR and other directshow based players.

This problem has been brought up the forums before. What commands are you using to create the avi?
