Hi Guys

After a 2 years of using other PVR's (i couldnt get gb-pvr to work...) i gave it another try and WOW...it is really amazing...everything works perfectly now! one thing i really need in my pvr and i cant seem to find here is a way to just open any media file anywhere on my HD and play it internaly (in gbpvr like the normal video files play in my "video" path), is there anything like that within gb-pvr or a plugin that does it?

thx alot

might it be easier to browse to the file from GBPVR? Then you can do it all by remote from the comfort of your arm-chairSmile

and the directory containing that video file to the "video directories" in the config, then video library will list that directory aswell.

and of course you can do the same with pics and music directories, and (free advert) if you click on one Mr Reven's signuiture links you can do it with applications and emulators too, with the rather useful My Programs plugin.

thx once again!

was the site down or was it only my ISP....i appriciate the answers but what i was actually looking for is a way to do it as said "from my coutch with a remote Smile "...without adding another dir with a mouse and keyboard. for example if i just added or downloaded a movie file to Z:\downloads which is not in my video share Dir. and i want to watch it now, i would want to be able to just navigate inside GB-PVR-IE-open any file option (meedio and Sage-TV have that option) and then if its a movie file then GB-PVR would open it with the internal movie player Smile i would love to know if its possible.

once again thx alot, GB-PVR really rocks!

Just do what everyone suggested above. When you first setup GB-PVR, add the root directories from any places you'd like to access media files - most people would only ever put their media files in a few places. From then on, you'll only ever need to use your remote to get to those file.

If you want, you could alwary add each of your drives to the media directory list during your initial setup, meaning you'll have every directory on your machine available to you from your remote.

I see no need for GB-PVR to do any more than this.
