Hey everyone. I've installed my PVR-500 in my PC (1.5GHz/512mb RAM/Windows XP Professional) and am running into a problem.

I get no picture. I got my EPG with Zap2It set up correctly but cannot get any picture. Instead, I just get lines that look like the attachment below. For what it's worth, all drivers are installed and up to date. Also, the lines are not in motion. It is just 1 still frame (it's not snow or anything).

I have a few ideas where the problem might be:
- On the GB-PVR config on the "Capture Sources" tab, I'm not exactly sure what I need to set. I have 2 tuners so do I need to set up both of them? For recorder plugin, I've selected Direct Recording Plugin. For board number, I just put #1 in for both of them. I only have 1 card so I figured that was probably right. I'm in the USA and have that selected and also have Internal Tuner selected along with tuning by cable. How should the two tuner setups differ? Is all this set up correctly?

- The problem may be codec related. The reason I say this is because I tested out the recording function and attempted to play the .mpg file in Windows Media Player 9 and the file won't play there either. And when it doesn't play the status bar on the bottom of Windows Media Player says things like Attempting to find codec... Searching for codec... Error downloading codec. And subsequently the file wouldn't play.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Steveklein,

On capture source, you need to configure with 2 capture sources, for example, 1st one is PVR500 as #1 device, 2nd one is PVR500 with FM as #2 device.

As for the codec, you can install any DVD player software, and it will install the codec for you.

You can test to see if you have any picture with WinTV and check your cable signal if you don't see any picture.
