hello all

I downloaded 0.17i and installed, after completely removing the 0.16 version.

Every time I go to view Live TV I get the following message.

"Failed to communicate with GB-PVR Recording Service.  This software is possibly not running.  After rebooting, try again.  If the problem persists contact support@devnz.com "

I have checked the service is running, I have rebooted computer and restarted the service (several times)

If I try to record nothing happens.

I am running winxp pro with a pvr250 roslyn card.

I have run beyond tv and verified that the card does work.

I am at a loss, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Can you email me the file called gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-native.log? It may contain some clues for me. I dont actually own a Roslyn card, but it should work because it has definitely work with some other cards based on the same blackbird reference architecture.

I am running into the exact same problem. I do notice that there is an icon next to my clock that is always on Sleeping. I cannot seem to get it to go away by right or left clicking it.

Its not related to the Roslyn issue but the icon will stay there, with a red curve at the bottom and a 'sleeping' tooltip while the recording service is running. If a recording is in progress, the curve will turn green and the tool tip will indicate the name of the file it is recording.

I noticed that if I'm watching live TV and move the mouse pointer over the icon, it disappears.

Hi Sub,

Did you every get a copy of that file you were looking for? I"d really like to get this program up and running. The only thing that appears to work for me is the tvguide scheduler. I cannot watch or record due to the error the first person described.

Greg just got back to me by email. Try changing the direct.ini file. Edit the Hauppuage Roslyn section, change the FILTER_CAPTURE line to read as follows:

FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV 88x Video Capture

Then you should be away.

Hello,

I changed the line in the Roslyn section, but still get the same error when trying to watch live tv or record.

FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV 88x Video Capture

It was FILTER_CAPTURE=Hauppauge WinTV 88x Video

Changing the FILTER_CAPTURE line fixed mine for the most part, I can now watch live tv and record.

my only problem is that I have a green flickering bar at the bottom of my recorded pieces.

Ok, I'm a big moron. I forgot I had Norton Internet Security running. Once I configure it, live tv came up. Now I have a new problem. I've looked around the support forum and didn't see any posts so here goes.

I have no sound. Nothing in live TV and nothing in the recorded programs. I looked in the config but didn't see any options for sound.

Thank You
Steven
