Remote Goes Crazy

I'm trying to get working a friends PVR that he just built after I bragged too much about GBPVR. He is using the WinTV-PVR-150 with Hauppauge remote control. He has 2 problems:

1-video quality of live TV which I fixed.
2-Whenever the remote Hauppauge remote to move up/down/left/right the selection just keeps scrolling. The only way to stop it is if it was up/down pick left/right. If it helps, he is using SD cable and the internal tuner of the 150.

Any help would be appreciated

Not too sure about the remote..I am using the hauppuage 150 as well and have not had this problem.
How did you fix the quality of live TV? I have a few channels that come in fairly poor on the 150 but fine through any other tuner.

i installed the nvidia video renderer, installed the omega video drivers, and replaced the quartz.dll file. Seems to play ok now. The remote drives me crazy since I never had the problem myself and I can't figure it out. Next step is to format and start over.

Semi-flat batteries in remote? stuck button?

I'll try the batteries, didn't think of that.
As for the buttons, it would have to be all the directional buttons since it applies to up, down, left, and right so I doubt that would be it...
