I'm not sure if this is since 98.13, but tonight I got some very odd behaviour in the EPG, concerning scrolling. I have never seen it before.

I only have 6 channels (by choice). The all fit on the EPG in one hit. Normally I scroll down from top to bottom and it stops at the bottom. I like that. If I go up it stops at the top, I like that too.

Tonight, twice, when I turned on my MVP, and scrolled down to a channel, I found it would keep going and showed the top channel again, i.e. I now have SEVEN channels, with top and bottom the same and not only that the darn thing scrolled (and "rolled") the channels around like a never-ending loop.

Did I press a button on the remote to make it do this accidentally? If so how do I turn it off, I'm not that keen on it... :-)

Sub. Thanks for your reply.

Not being argumentative here, but it might have always wrapped around if you have lots of channels. Seriously, mine has never wrapped around as I have very few channels.

Lets say you had two, that wouldn't wrap right? That's the normal behaviour for me. It goes down and stops. Last night I magically got one extra channel, (always the top one) and wrap around behaviour. Just a niggle and odd, after all this time. No biggie.

Okey Dokey, No worries. I can't seem to reproduce it on the PC (yet), only on the MVP or I'd show you a piccy or a screen video of what was happening. I know the cursor bar is supposed to scroll around, it's not that, the cursor seems to stay still and the program list scrolled around. It's intermittent anyway.

Cheers all the same Smile

Sub,

OK, it bugged me, so I made a screen video capture of the behaviour I was talking about, it's a little less than 3MB wmv file.

The first capture is what I see when I first enter GBPVR, and what I have seen in every version up till now. Note the 6 channels and channel icons do not move, only the green cursor, up and down, when I use the up/down arrow keys.

However if I exit to the main menu and go into the EPG again, the second part of the video is what I now see. Note there are 7 channels, with the bottom one repeated. Is this really normal by design? It has not happened in any version up until this one?

Cheers,

Ah sorry, thats not what I thought you were describing, and not the correct behaviour. The attached patch should resolve it. Let me know how you get on.

Yippee! Smile Cheers sub, tried to torture-test it right now, that does indeed appear to have fixed that particular wee bug-bear. Thank you! Clearly I need to work on my descriptive skills ... :-)

I have an intermittent and separate issue with the config which cropped up again after I restarted the GBPVR service, but I'll start another thread for that. I can get past it by hitting continue in the JIT debugger and GBPVR works fine, which is how I tested the scrolling thingy, and also why I am mentioning it here, in case you were wondering how I managed to to test this particular issue.

Are all patches additive, btw, there's been a little avalanche of them for various things over the last couple of days, but for stuff I don't use anyway (like ATSC).
