I picked up a VBOX Cat's Eye USB Tuner last night and I was able to get it to record, but I can't watch my recorded shows or live TV through gBPVR.

In my system I only have two possible decoders for video--the Cyberlink one (I have PowerDVD 5 OEM installed) and the decoder my FusionDTV card uses. I know the shows are recording because I've taken them into DgDecode and I have to set the PIDs for the right show.

is it possible that the OEM version of PowerDVD 5 doesn't expose the decoder to other programs, and I have to get something like the nVIDIA codec?

I'm not currently at my home computer, so I can't upload any logs yet, but I will be able to in a few hours.

Okay, I'm back at my home computer and here are all the logs I could find in my devnz directory.

Right now, my decoders for both audio and video are set at system default, so I suspect that they're using the ZuluHDTV decoders.

It looks like it isnt finding any system default decoder. Can you try explicitly setting it to the zulu decoder?

I never thought about doing that. I had always thought that the ZuluHDTV decoder was only for the Fusion cards.

I think I might have tried that when I was trying to get the FusionHDTV 2 card to work, and it didn't even work.

i'll give it another try, though. I really want this to work so I don't have to shell out 70 bucks for that other program (which shall remain nameless, but it starts with a "B"--lol).

Well, i gave the Zulu HDTV decoder a chance, and it crapped out too.

Not only that, but despite following the instructions for entering the tuning information, GB-PVR is still not working right.

It seems to record a program, exept the resulting stream has no PIDs to view the data. On the odd occasions where I've gotten it to behave, no matter what channel I select to record, it always records one specific channel--namely the local NBC affiliate. In addition, I ran the BDA Mux Checker program, and it tells me that I have no mux installed, so I am downloading the demo of Cyberlink's PowerCinema just to attempt to get either a decoder and/or muxer.

Finally, the most recent problem is that it won't let me record anything at all because it claims there's a recording conflict--even though there's absolutely nothing in the Pending recording section.

I am rapidly losing patience with this program. There should be no reason why it's not working, yet it's misbehaving in a new way almost daily. I really don't want to shell out $70 for BeyondTV, but if this doesn't resolve itself by the end of the week, I will.

If I can get RegCleaner to run, I'm going to uninstall it, clean out the registry of any info pertaining to it, then reinstall it and see what happens.
